Sous Chef Brinley Brown
Hello! My name is Brinley Brown, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself and share a bit about my journey. My passion for cooking and baking has blossomed over the past couple of years, and I’m excited to continue growing in this field. I’m currently a junior at Wando High School and this marks my second year in culinary school, where I’ve had the opportunity to deepen my skills and knowledge in the kitchen.
Cooking has always been a part of my life, as I fondly remember baking with my mom growing up. But in the past two years, I’ve truly discovered a deep love for being in the kitchen and creating dishes that bring people together.
I’m incredibly excited to be working alongside Truman and assisting in every way I can. I’m passionate about what I do, and I look forward to the possibility of BeTru Catering serving your future catering needs, and bringing delicious, memorable meals to your events.

Executive Chef Truman Hart
My culinary journey began at a very young age, and I’ve been captivated by food ever since. Growing up in San Diego, California, I had the privilege of learning to cook traditional, locally-inspired dishes like fresh tortillas, Tri-Tip, ceviche, and carne asada. These flavors and techniques sparked a deep passion for cooking that has only grown stronger over the years.
Now, as a junior in high school, I’m in my second year of culinary school, further refining my skills and expanding my knowledge. Despite my age, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work at some of Charleston’s most prestigious restaurants alongside renowned chefs. When guests learn how young I am, their jaws often drop—but it’s my dedication, attention to detail, and love for the craft that truly shines through in every dish I prepare.
My goal as a chef is simple: to bring joy to people before they even take their first bite. I believe food has the power to create unforgettable experiences, and I’m excited to bring that passion to your next event. Whether it’s an elegant dinner party, a private chef’s tasting menu, a birthday celebration, or any occasion in need of a unique culinary experience, I would be honored to help make it truly special.
